The National Rosacea Society (NRS) was honored for 20 years of serving the rosacea community at an educational symposium on the disorder, sponsored by Galderma Laboratories, during the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) annual meeting in early March. Actress Cynthia Nixon, who suffers from rosacea, introduced Sam Huff, executive director of the NRS.
Mr. Huff recognized several of the many physicians who have contributed to the understanding of this condition, including Dr. Lynn Drake of Harvard Medical School and editor of Rosacea Review; Dr. Mark Dahl, professor emeritus at the Mayo Clinic and former president of the AAD; Dr. John Wolf, chairman of dermatology at Baylor College of Medicine; Dr. Richard Granstein, chairman of dermatology at Cornell University; Dr. Alexa Kimball, director of the Clinical Unit for Research Trials in Skin at Harvard Medical School; and Dr. Martin Steinhoff, head of the rosacea research group at the University of California - San Francisco.
