Baby Shampoo for Ocular Rosaccea

I have had rosacea and ocular rosacea for more than 20 years.  My eyes have always been worse than my face and have always experienced redness, burning and itchiness.  Sometimes the burning was so unbearable I could barely stand to keep my eyes open.

Since reading your newsletter about the teacher who started washing her eyes with baby shampoo, I have been doing the same thing.  My eyes have improved considerably and feel so much better.  I’m so happy because having red, burning eyes is incredibly uncomfortable and, to me, unsightly.  In all the years I’ve had rosacea, not one doctor has told me to use baby shampoo.

About It Works for Me

Beyond medical therapy prescribed by your doctor, a vast array of other measures have been discovered by patients to help control their condition. It Works for Me is a venue for sharing reports from rosacea patients, as well as physicians, who have written over the years to tell us, "I tried this, and it works for me," in hopes that they might help other rosacea sufferers with their individual cases. If you have a tip to share, please email it to itworksforme@rosacea.org, and it may be included here.
